How to Make a Toy Rocking Chair for My Doll
- 1). Soak two craft sticks in hot water for 30 minutes. Remove the sticks from the water and slowly bend them around a small soup can. Secure the craft sticks onto the soup can with rubber bands and let them dry for about three hours.
- 2). Place the bent craft sticks down on a flat surface with the rounded part facing down. Place two craft sticks across the two bent sticks toward each end of the bend. Glue the sticks in place with a glue gun to form the base of the rocking chair.
- 3). Cut 1/4 of an inch off the ends of four craft sticks to create the rocking chair legs. Apply a small amount of hot glue to the four spots just inside the two craft sticks that connect the bent sticks. Attach the cut end of the craft sticks to the four areas with hot glue, pressing and holding the sticks in place.
- 4). Glue five craft sticks together in the shape of a square. Glue the square on top of the four vertical Popsicle sticks.
- 5). Glue five craft sticks together to create the seat for the rocking chair. Glue the sticks onto the square to complete the seat.
- 6). Cut two craft sticks in half. Glue the sticks, flat end down, to the top front of the seat in a vertical position. Set the other halves of the sticks aside.
- 7). Glue five craft sticks together side-by-side. Place the sticks against the back of the craft sticks that create the seat. Use a pencil to mark the spot to glue the back of the chair to the seat. Cover the pencil-marked spot with glue and attach it to the back of the seat.
- 8). Get the other two halves of the cut craft sticks from Step 6. Set the half sticks on top of the other two vertical half sticks on the chair so that the flat ends are against the back of the chair. Glue the sticks in place to complete the arms of the chair.
- 9). Paint the chair with craft paint in the desired color to match the décor of the doll house.
