    Choosing the Gift

    • Scented candles, small picture frames, salt and pepper shakers, small jars of jelly and luggage tags in various shapes and styles make appropriate favors. Consider offering separate favors for children if you are inviting them to your wedding. These can be bubbles (if you are having the reception outside), pinwheels, crayons and coloring books or some other small item that can be played with during the wedding. You can also offer gifts that correlate with an upcoming holiday, such as Christmas ornaments, valentine hearts with chocolates or decorative eggs.

    Gift Wrapping

    • Gift wrap can be elegant without having to be elaborate. Wrap small boxes in foil paper with a shiny bow. Gift bags make a simple and pretty choice topped with tissue paper and tied closed with curling ribbon. Paper Chinese takeout boxes come in many pretty patterns and make nice containers, especially for an Asian-themed wedding. Packages can be accessorized with ribbons, small bells, small bags of birdseed or pretty cutout shapes. When choosing the colors for your packaging, find colors that complement your wedding colors and theme.

    Personalizing Gifts

    • Add a personal touch to the gifts you are giving. Silver gifts can be engraved with the couple's names and the wedding date. Include a special recipe with a kitchen gift or instructions on the gift's use. Custom CDs that feature songs from the wedding and have the names of the bride and groom with the wedding date on the label make nice package toppers. Nestle gifts in tissue paper and place in baskets.

    Gift Presentation

    • There are many options for presenting gifts to your guests. Place gifts at each place setting at your reception, or hang them from each chair with a ribbon. If you are having a wedding near Christmas, a Christmas tree can be placed in the reception area to hang gifts from. Gifts can be piled in a basket for the guests to take when they go or placed on a table with a small sign telling guests to help themselves.
