How to Rip Software for Video Games
- 1). Purchase a game-copying program, such as Copy That Game, Clone CD and Alcohol 120% (see Resources). As of 2011, these programs cost between $35 and $50.
- 2). Download and install the program that you have chosen to use to your PC. Initiate the installation process by double-clicking on the file that you downloaded. Accept the "Terms and Conditions, and click "Next." Wait for the installation to complete.
- 3). Click on the desktop icon for your application to launch the program.
- 4). Insert a blank CD in your CD/DVD drive.
- 5). Select "File" on your program application from the menu bar at the top of the screen, and select "Copy Game."
- 6). Navigate to the file folder where your video game is located, and click the "Select" button.
- 7). Start burning the video game file to the blank disc by pressing the "Start" button. Wait for the process to be completed. This will usually take about five to 10 minutes, depending on the size of the game. You will see a progress bar. A window informing you that the operation is success will appear once the process is complete.
