How to Install Glass Bathtub Doors
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Measure your bathtub. This means measuring all lengths, height and width. The majority of bathtubs are a standard size, but it's still a great idea to measure just to make sure your purchase a new glass door set that matches your bathtub's size. Once you've got the measurements, purchase your new glass bathtub door set based on these measurements.
2
Clean the entire tub extremely well with soap, water and a brush, and give it adequate time to completely dry before beginning the installation process.
3
Install the bottom track of your glass bathtub door set. First, run a line of sealant along where you will place the bottom track. Make sure it is sticking securing to the tub before moving on.
4
Measure the length between screw holes on the side tracks of your glass door kit and then drill holes into the sides of your bathtub corresponding to the holes on the side tracks. Run a line of silicon down the sides slowly and evenly, place the tracks on the tub so they are even and install the side tracks using your drill to install them with screws.
5
Set the top track on top of the two side tracks that you just installed. You may or may not have to screw these three pieces together, depending on the model of glass bathtub door you are installing.
6
Hang the doors onto the top track, making sure the rollers fit well and are able to slide the door easily open and closed. Finally, install the door handles following the kits instructions. Apply caulk around all edges of the tracks to make sure water doesn't seep out the sides of your glass bathtub doors.
