Winch Removal

• Small tree stumps can be removed with a winch, but to do this there must be at least four feet of stump left in the ground. This is to allow sufficient leverage and something to which to tie the winch.
  
  

Stump Grinder

• This a machine especially designed to grind the bulk of the stump to sawdust which can then be easily removed. Once the stump is ground under, the level of the surrounding ground it can be turfed over. This method leaves the majority of the roots in the ground.
  
  

Mini Excavator

• For very large stumps, the easiest method of removal is with an excavator. This way the stump and most of the roots can be dug out and the hole refilled.
