Do you want more traffic coming to your website every day? The fact is there are many different ways to drive traffic to a website.
Some will cost you a pretty penny, but there are many others that are free as can be.
I am going to focus on the latter, because it is important to understand how everything works if you are just getting started in internet business.
Also, it is highly likely that you have little or no money to spend if you are just getting started.
Two "Guerrilla" tactics that can be the most powerful are forum hopping and blog hopping.
Forum Hopping Forum hopping is the act of visiting forums about a niche that is similar to yours.
Forums are great because they can have a ton of targeted traffic from people who are interested in information you are providing.
To find good forums, simply run a search for "Your Niche Forum".
There will likely be dozens of forums and thousands of contributors.
The key is to browse the forum posts and provide as much quality input as you can.
It can be as simple as providing your opinion on a topic or answering an easy question by "Googling" the answer.
Another key to successful forum hopping lies in your forum signature.
The signature will be at the bottom of every one of your forum posts, so you want to make it work for you.
It should include a link to your website with a brief description of your content.
This allows people who enjoy your input to easily find a way to get more of your information.
Blog Hopping Blog hopping is the act of visiting blogs that have a niche similar to your own, reading the content, and commenting on the blog posts.
The key to successful blog hopping is to have your comments provide some additional insight into the subject of the post.
You also have to ensure that you include a link back to your website so other readers can find you.
These are both great tactics for a number of reasons:
  1. It shows the readers that you are knowledgeable on the subject and hopefully induce them to visit your website to seek additional information.
    This is great targeted traffic.
  2. It provides relevant backlinks to your site.
Search engines, like Google, eat this stuff up when they are ranking websites.
The more they see your site linking back to similar websites, the higher your site will be ranked.
  3. It helps you learn a lot about your niche and, more importantly, internet business.
The act of visiting the top blogs and forums in your niche will show you what works and what doesn't.
This is quite possibly the biggest benefit of this tactic.
Forum hopping and blog hopping can be monotonous and time consuming but it is well worth it.
It helps provide "evergreen" traffic to your sites because your comments will remain as long as the sites remain.
People will be able to link back to your website years later from a simple comment you made on a blog or forum.
