    • 1). Measure and mark out a 6-foot square on a blank wall in your craft room, using a pencil. Make the square at least 6 inches above the floor. Use a level to make sure the top and bottom lines are straight.

    • 2). Pull apart strips of self-adhesive hook-and-loop tape. Stick strips of the hook half parallel to the lines that define the square. Place the strips so the outside edge lines up along the pencil lines. Piece the strips together, if need be, to create an unbroken line all around the outside of the square.

    • 3). Hang the felt square by pushing it onto the hook-and-loop tape strips. Line up the upper edge of the fabric, smooth down the sides and finish with the bottom edge. Pull the felt taut without stretching for the smoothest work surface.
