Catering In Fort Lauderdale: World Class Taste Served Up By Lankry" s Kosher Gourmet
In a world of same-old, same-old food you will find a rare pearl from time to time. Something so different, so unique that it's something more than a nice surprise, it's a bit of a shock. Be honest, it hasn't happened to you very often. It certainly hasn't happened more than a handful of times for me, and I am really on the lookout for new and interesting taste treats. And even though I have found some truly great dining experiences, one of my favorites is Lankry's. They artfully combine delicious kosher ingredients with traditional Moroccan dishes to create a dining experience unlike any other, and have burst onto the Ft. Lauderdale cuisine scene with great success, quickly becoming one of the most popular Fort Lauderdale caterers around.
Originally from Morocco, the Lankry's first opened up shop after moving to New York. Largely from word of mouth, the bakery/catering service quickly gained huge success and was called upon to entertain the taste buds of esteemed Israeli Prime Ministers such as Ariel Sharon, Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak through extensive work with the Israeli Consulate in New York.
How can an upstart reach such stratospheric success in just a few years? The answer is simple. The food is delicious and all ingredients are kosher, which makes them a huge success in the vibrant south Florida Jewish community. Betty and Jacqueline Lankry, the family duo of head chefs, have been in the business for 20 years, but five years ago moved the operation to Ft. Lauderdale.
"People love our food because it makes south Florida a home away from home," Betty said, preparing a tray of shabakia, a traditional Moroccan pastry. "Catering gives us the opportunity to contribute to people's most special moments in life." The Jewish community in South Florida enjoys Lankry's as a place to get a taste of home and world class service for parties, holidays, and festivals throughout the year.
They frequently caters for bar and bat mitzvahs, Kiddush, weddings, bris, graduations and more. With September's Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the Lankrys have a busy month ahead of them. According to Rina, who handles all of the marketing for the family business, "September is one of our busiest months throughout the year."
Although traditional Jewish and Moroccan dishes are the most popular, they also serve American favorites like BBQ and Southern Fried Chicken, Italian dishes like meat Lasagna and meatballs in tomato sauce, and an assortment of hors d'oeuvres and side dishes to suit any taste.
So if you are planning an event in the Ft. Lauderdale area, Lankry's can serve up a delicious, exotic dish your guests will remember and thank you for. Having found some real surprises when it comes to food in my life, I can tell you that a meal from this kosher gourmet is one of those that has that "something more", especially for those of us who aren't familiar with Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine. It will have you wanting more, that's certain. So get away from the sandwiches and salad bars and give Betty a call, they will make your next event a memorable one.
