Bodemeister
May 2, 2012
It was clear and sunny on Wednesday morning in Louisville and already warm with an expected high of 91. Many of the Kentucky Derby contenders were out this morning, but there were no timed works. Entries were taken and post positions drawn this afternoon at 5pm and a field of 20 plus one also-eligible were entered.
Bodemeister was out for a gallop after just walking the track yesterday. He drew post position 6 for the Derby.
After the draw, his trainer Bob Baffert said, "I was relieved that he didn't get the one hole. I just didn't want to be stuck on the rail, like I was with Lookin at Lucky and had that horrible feeling. I think all the good horses drew really well for this race. It's going to be very competitive."

We'll let (jockey) Sheldon (Russell) do his best from there."
