Working on your own advanced poker strategy, and applying it every time you believe and think it is RIGHT will earn you a lot of money.
It doesn't matter if you are a heads up player, play tournaments regularly, because this strategy applies to any poker game and this at any given time.
First of all, it is important that a person learns to read the table before he or she can step out of his or her comfort zone to play a game which is bringing him or her the highest ROI.
Only through constant observation, opponent estimation, you will get a feeling on his playing style and method.
Once you got to the point where you can mostly if not always determine and read your competitor's hand well, it is time to exploit his playing style frequently.
Make sure that you don't exploit it every single time, because if you do that your opponent will quickly have figured out that you know his playing style in this particular spot.
So what is a good percentage for this specific move? Probably something around 30 - 70% max.
Of course, if you have the feeling that the person you are playing against, won't be on the table tomorrow or next week, you probably want to exploit it every single time, especially if he or she is pretty bad in reading your hand and catching on.
Let's have a look at a quick example so that you get a picture on how an advanced poker strategy works in practice.
If an opponent should raise every single button, and you do know that he has a weak hand over 80%+ of the time, it is time to re-raise him in proper spots.
This comes mostly to play if the button raiser has a great tendency to folding after a raise.
Because if he does fold after almost every re raise it is likely that you can bluff him out of a lot of hands.
The good thing is that you don't even need a super strong hand to compete against his range.
The reason for this statement is because he folds more hands than he should, and won't call or even 3 bet you light.
Many players are missing the point here, and are afraid to re raise an aggressive player who definitely plays more hands on average than a tighter player.
Focus on one advanced poker strategy at the time, and your goal should be to observe all of your opponents during a hand.
You have to get a feeling on when an opponent is weak and when he is ultra strong.
All these fine techniques can be acquired through consistent hand reading and hand analysis.
