Invitations

• Make a template of a skateboard from cardboard to use for the invitations. Trace the template onto poster board or card stock to create the birthday invitations. Decorate the paper skateboards with markers and stickers, allowing the birthday child to assist for a personalized touch. Write the party details on the back of the skateboard cutout. Another option is to use miniature toy skateboards for the invitations, writing the details with a permanent marker onto the skateboard.
  
  

Decorations

• Use real skateboards as decorations for the birthday party. Use them as centerpieces, or prop them around the party room. Cut out large skateboards from cardboard to hang on the walls. Paint designs on the skateboards. Make extra cardboard skateboards to suspend from the ceiling. Add posters of famous skateboarders on the walls of the birthday party venue. Choose the color scheme based on the preferences of the birthday child, or pull colors from the skateboards that you use for decoration.
  
  

Entertainment

• Consider moving the party to a local skateboarding park if the guests all enjoy the sport. Add a note to the invitations asking the guests to bring their own skateboards for the activity. Consider setting up your own skateboarding park at home with small ramps for the kids, or create an obstacle course for the young skateboarders. Always provide close supervision to ensure the safety of the guests.
  
  Provide cardboard cutouts in the shape of skateboards for the guests to decorate. Cut the shapes out before the guests arrive. Provide paint, markers, stickers, and other craft supplies for the guests to use for decorating their skateboards.
  
  Purchase miniature skateboards as favors for the guests. Set up a miniature skateboard park for the kids so they can enjoy the miniature skateboards. Provide enough areas for all of the guests to play, or set up stations with different activities, allowing the kids to rotate through them.
  
  If the birthday child enjoys video games, set up a gaming area for a skateboarding video game. Purchase a new skateboarding video game as a present for the birthday child that also doubles as the entertainment. Set a timer to avoid arguments over video game time.
