Reliance on Oneself
I glanced at the subheadings of the 'health magazine' (read as:the advertising arm of a publishing firm) and was reminded of the 'dumbing down' that is done by 'big pharma' as it peddles it's wares to an unsuspecting public.
We, the public, tend to take far too much for granted and especially so if a certain product, philosophy or person is touted as being sanctioned by an 'Expert'.
More is done to reinforce the image of importance and authority in the medical system than is being done to free up each person by informing, educating and training in the laws of health.
The heading on the magazine indicated that there are inherent dangers in 'self-diagnosis'.
If one uses a medical rule of thumb the above statement might just hold a lot of water, however, from a purely naturopathic viewpoint, there is absolutely no harm in examining your self and recognizing the difference between health and disease.
In fact, if you are in any way interested in becoming the most knowledgeable person in matters pertaining to your own health, then you could do no better than to get hold of a responsible reading list and begin to digest the truth about being AT EASE and being ILL AT EASE A good place to begin would be:http://www.
