How to Troubleshoot Fujifilm Finepix E510
- 1). Press the power button on top of the camera to check if your E510 is powering on. If the camera remains off, make sure the XD card cover is properly closed and try again. If it still does not turn on, open the battery compartment and ensure that the batteries are correctly placed in the battery compartment. Recharge or replace the AA batteries in case they are dead. If you still cannot power on the E510, remove the batteries and clean the battery compartment. Attempt to power on the camera again.
- 2). Check to see if the Finepix E510 is in "Playback" mode if you are having trouble recording movies or pictures. If the camera is in "Playback" mode, press the button with the boxed green triangle. Check to see if the XD card is full. If the E510 still does not record, the flash may be charging, indicted by an orange light. When the flash is charged and ready to fire, the orange light will cease to blink.
- 3). Leave the E510 idle for several minutes until the lens retracts automatically. If E510 lens fails to retract, examine the battery and XD card compartment doors. If either of them are open, close them and turn the camera on and off. The lens should retract.
- 4). Hold the batteries for the E510 close to your body or wrap them in a warming pad before use if you are working in an environment that is colder than 15 degrees Fahrenheit and your camera batteries are running out too quickly. The lack of heat likely has hindered battery function. If your batteries have been out of use for more than a year, their charge capacity will likely be diminished. After several charges and recharges, the batteries will recalibrate and should last longer.
- 5). Use the E510's flash to avoid capturing blurry pictures when shooting photos with the Finepix E510. Blur usually occurs in low light due to camera shake. Use a tripod in addition to the camera's flash, if you are shooting in low light, to stabilize the picture and prevent camera shake.
