there's plenty of traffic.
Out of nowhere, you are jolted forward, violently.
You've been rear-ended.
The two of you seem OK and you pull to the side of road.
The car that collided into you slows, but then speeds off.
The damage to your car isn't so bad...
you wonder if you should even file a claim with your insurance company.
On the way home, you decide to mull it over and make a decision in the morning.
The next morning, your wife is fine, but you notice that your neck is stiff and a little sore.
As the day progresses, the pain intensifies and you start to wonder if you've been injured...
This is not an unusual occurrence.
Whiplash injuries are often overlooked or chalked up to being " not a big deal" This could not be further from the truth.
The problem often begins with the symptoms themselves.
"why go through the hassles of an injury claim?" Whiplash symptoms don't always show up at first...
And when they do, It doesn't always seem "that bad.
" Let's define what whiplash is.
Whiplash is a neck injury.
It sometimes involves damaged nerves and or torn muscles.
The neck has been over extended.
It usually occurs in some sort of road accident.
Understand that a neck injury should not be taken lightly.
The symptoms, at first mild, can become very painful and travel from the neck down to other parts of your body.
Your shoulders, upper arms and back can all be adversely affected.
You hear and read many things about filing a whiplash claim.
Whiplash Injury Solicitors will very often say that it isn't worth the aggravation.
The compensation won't amount to much..
I suppose in some instances that's true, however, in many cases, whiplash injuries can be severe, long lasting and life changing.
In some cases where the symptoms are mild in the beginning,, life goes on and very often the car accident and the injury are long forgotten.
As the weeks and years pass, the quality of life can decrease dramatically.
Your back may be sore all the time, but you blame it on your pillows or maybe a bad mattress.
You get headaches much more often.
You have muscle spasms in your shoulders and back.
That stiff neck of yours never really seems to get better, no matter how many massages you get.
Your work begins to suffer.
You just can't seem to concentrate...
