How to Fill Out a Savings Deposit Slip

    • 1). Enter the date on the deposit slip. This should be the date that of the day you are taking the deposit to the bank.

    • 2). List the items you are depositing. If you are depositing cash, list the paper currency in the box labeled "currency." If you are depositing coins, list the total amount of coins in the box labeled "coins." If you are depositing checks, list each check separately in the "blank" boxes. You can put the check number or name in the label box for each check.

    • 3). Calculate and enter the subtotal. Add all the currency, coins and checks to get a subtotal. Enter this in the box labeled "subtotal."

    • 4). Indicate the desired amount of cash back. If you wish to keep part of the deposit, enter the amount you want to keep.

    • 5). Calculate and enter the total. Subtract the desired amount of cash back from the subtotal. Enter this amount in the box labeled "total."

    • 6). Sign the deposit slip. This step is only required if you are keeping some of your money.
