  You spend more time in your work space than you do in any room of your house while you are awake, so make it a pleasant environment. Your work cubical should be comfortable and decorated with things that personalize your space. A cubical is just a box until you make it your own.
  
  

Make a Window

• A faux window in your cubical dresses up an otherwise generic-looking space. Create your window with a small mirror and a small swag curtain. Staple the curtain to the mirror by gathering the fabric at even spaces before you staple to give it uniform pleats across the top. Cut plain wooden molding and paint it in a color of your choice. Use this to create the illusion of window panes by gluing it on the mirror in a cross design.
  
  

Cork Wall

• Create a cork bulletin board on a wall in your cubical using adhesive cork tiles. They are available in many colors and sizes. Glue plain wooden molding, painted in a color that will coordinate with the colored cork, to the bulletin board to serve as an outline. This adds color and texture to your space and gives you an area to tack up photos, notes and pictures drawn by your kids.
  
  

Vinyl Wall Art

• Removable vinyl wall art can dress up even the dullest of work spaces. These pieces work similarly to the toy Color-forms, which adhere to surfaces using static electricity. For instance, sports fans can cover the walls with favorite team logos, life-size players or a picture of a favorite stadium. A car-racing fan can show off his favorite driver by displaying a picture of his car on the cubical wall.
  
  Vinyl wall art is available in images of flowers, animals and historic places, along with many other choices. There is no adhesive needed to hang these works, and they adhere to metal, plastic, plaster and most other surfaces. They come on and off the wall quickly and without damaging the surface.
  
  

Mobiles

• Decorate from the top down, by hanging decor from the ceiling above your cubical. Mobiles add decor and are almost in constant motion in a busy office area. Use clear fishing line; drop it down from the ceiling at a height that is about 7 feet from the floor. This assures that even the tallest person in your office is shorter than the mobile.
  
  

Rug Wall Hanging

• A small decorative rug, such as one with an Oriental design, can be tacked up on your cubical wall. This adds decor and helps in absorbing the sound in a busy office area. Textiles add a feeling of warmth to the area and will make your cubical feel more home-like.
