Uninstalling Spy Sweeper
- If SpySweeper isn't closed properly, it may not uninstall completely. Click the SpySweeper icon on the Windows toolbar, then choose the "Exit" command to close it. Hold down the "Control," "Alt" and "Delete" keys at the same time to open the Task Manager. Select "Processes" and look for a process called "spysweeper.exe." If you find it, choose it and then click "End Process." Next, look for a process called "WRSSSDK.exe" and follow the same procedure to close it if you find it.
- Go to the Windows "Start" menu from the toolbar, then choose "Control Panel." Locate the "Add/Remove Program" option and choose it. Once the list of available programs is populated, find and select SpySweeper. Click "Uninstall" and let Windows complete the uninstall process. You will get a message when it is done.
- Reboot your computer, and once it has restarted, look for the SpySweeper icon on the toolbar. If it is absent, hold down "Control," "Alt" and "Delete" to open the Task Manager. Under "Processes," look for "spysweeper.exe" and "WRSSSDK.exe." If the uninstall was successful, you will not find them. If they are running, end them and go through the uninstall process again.
