Do you have a sister getting ready to get married? You know it is your job as the Bridesmaid to deliver a speech in front of the crowd.
For a lot of people, this can be an absolute nightmare.
Good news though, it doesn't have to be! You have probably heard all of the tricks in the book.
View people in their underwear, focus on just one person, just look at the back of the room.
Sure, these things might help you.
But primarily, the people who need to do this are those that don't know what to say or feel as though they might look stupid for the things they are saying.
To be honest, being worried about this all comes down to your preparation.
Looking at the best public speakers in the world, they have all prepared for the speeches they are delivering.
Granted, some people just have a natural talent for it, but the vast majority of people who do some form of public speaking regularly would never say they just got up their and did it flawlessly with no preparation.
The first thing you should do is just take out a piece of paper and write down the things that you feel you may want to talk about.
This can be stories, the first time you met your sisters husband.
You could even narrow it down to a couple of funny stories, or a few sincere and emotional ones.
Take those ideas and begin organizing them.
You should take serious consideration into how you will flow from one story to the other.
Once you have a good grasp on what you want to say, you should write your speech whether you intend on reading it word for word or just getting its layout in your head.
At this point, it is just a matter of practicing it.
Read it to others in the wedding and ask them to give you honest feedback.
This will help you feel more confident when getting in front of the crowd.
