How to Replace a Murano Cabin Filter
- 1). Open the glove compartment from the passenger seat, and remove the contents.
- 2). Remove the two glove compartment retaining screws located on the right side upper and lower corners of the glove compartment with the screwdriver.
- 3). Disconnect the metal clips located on the top left- and right-hand sides of the glove compartment. Disconnect the latch/striker located at the top center of the glove compartment.
- 4). Lift the glove compartment upward, and remove it and the lower panel from the instrument panel. The cabin filter access cover will now be visible.
- 5). Release the cabin filter cover clip, and remove the cover.
- 6). Extract the cabin filter element from the evaporative housing, paying attention to the air flow direction of the original filter. The air flow direction is marked on the side of the cabin filter element with an arrow.
- 7). Insert the replacement filter into the evaporative housing, and replace the access door. Be sure the clip locks into place. Reassemble the glove compartment and lower panel by reversing steps 2 through 4.
- 1). Open the passenger side door on the Murano, and locate the carpet cover panel on the lower corner of the center console. Pull the cover panel from the front (left side of the panel while facing it), and pivot it toward the rear (right side of the panel while facing it) to unseat the two snap-clip retainers underneath it.
- 2). Press the release tab of the cabin filter door (now visible in the lower corner toward the front of the vehicle), and remove the door.
- 3). Slide the cabin filter element out, and insert the replacement filter, making sure the air flow direction is correct. The air flow in the newer models should point toward the cab of the vehicle, away from the engine.
- 4). Replace the cabin filter door, and ensure the retaining clip snaps into place.
- 5). Align the carpet panel retaining clips to their seats, and snap it back into place by pressing on it.
