How to Build a Hummingbird Bird Bath
- 1). Rinse your pan to rid it of dirt and dust. An ideal pan to use would be the base of a large gardening pot - the round bases that are meant to catch water. Be sure to use one without a drainage hole since you won't need it for this purpose.
- 2). Arrange the decorative aquarium rocks within the pan. Add enough rocks that the bottom of the pan is covered, and arrange to your liking.
- 3). Place your pan on its designated stand. Small decorative outdoor plant tables can be purchased cheaply at your local garden store. Such a table will provide a sturdy level surface for the bath.
- 4). Fill the pan with a shallow amount of water. The water does not need to be more then 2 inches deep.
- 5). Place your stand and bath in a sunny area, preferably close to your hummingbird feeder. Placing the bath near the feeder will help attract hummingbirds.
