    • 1). Attach a sprayer attachment to the garden hose and adjust the sprayer to a gentle, low-pressure setting. Spray the top of the car and work down to the bottom of the car, until the car is thoroughly wet.

    • 2). Pour a capful of quality car wash shampoo into a 5-gallon plastic bucket. Large amounts of shampoo will remove the wax from your car's surface.

    • 3). Fill the plastic bucket with cold water. Do not use warm water, as warm water will soften the wax on your car.

    • 4). Park the car in the shade. Place your hand on the car, to ensure the car's surface is cool enough to be washed. If you can comfortably lay your hand on the car, the car can be washed.

    • 5). Dip a wash mitt into the soapy solution. Rub the mitt over the top of the car, in circular motions.

    • 6). Rinse the top of the car immediately with the garden hose. Continue cleaning the rest of the car, scrubbing from the top to the bottom of the car.

    • 7). Rinse each section of the car with the garden hose after cleaning it. Inspect the car for remaining dirt and debris, and continue washing if necessary.

    • 8). Lay a microfiber towel on the top of the car to absorb the water. Blot the rest of the car with the microfiber towel, moving from the top of the car to the bottom. The car should be dried immediately after being washed.
