You Cannot Have Good Health Without Body Strength

The basic concept of life and the number one purpose for our existence is the survival of the human species.
We are made so we can work hard physically for several decades while we have to find or produce food to feed our family.
But the parameters of this ancient system have changed as our modern world has done away with hard physical activity in an effort to make our lives more comfortable and convenient.
Comfortable and convenient they may be but we end up with a big problem if our activity levels slow down.
The human body thinks that there is no longer a family to feed therefore there is no need to keep things strong and functioning well if they are not needed.
The ultimate efficiency - the old use it or lose it scenario to make room for younger and stronger beings.
Without the necessary stimulation of growth and repair hormones that vigorous activity creates, muscles grow weak, shrink and become smaller reducing the efficiency of the metabolism (the body's engine) triggering a journey into a downward health spiral.
The rate of muscle tissue loss is around one half pound per year starting from the mid 20's.
This rate doubles after age 50 and by age 65 you could have lost as much as 80 percent of it if you have not worked hard to keep it.
Any wonder 66 percent of people over the age of 75 cannot lift a ten pound weight above their head.
This slow decrease of muscle tissue loss over many years and decades is hardly noticeable, but little by little it is happening.
Suddenly you get to middle age and find your strength has all but disappeared and your body has changed its shape, lost its tone and become soft and flabby.
You may not take too much notice of your muscles after all they are largely unseen but, if you have been inactive or sedentary you will be losing more than precious muscle tissue.
Your energy levels will dwindle, your personal appearance, the way your body and mind functions and performs and your entire quality of life is undermined, along with your ability to fight disease and illness.
But it doesn't have to be like this.
You can take an active role and stop this happening to you regardless of your age.
How your body functions is to a great extent determined by your body composition (muscle/fat ratio).
Negative changes in this ratio are the number one factor in your general health and well being.
All of this can be avoided by 2-3 sessions each week of a proper exercise program that contains mostly strength training exercise.
If it is set up correctly and you are taught the right level of intensity (degree of effort needed) you don't need to spend much time as this type of exercise program is so effective results come quickly.
In just a few short months you can increase strength and energy levels so much you will scarcely believe how good you feel.
This will mean that you will have more stamina and 'get up and go' so you can squeeze every little bit of enjoyment out of life.
You will wonder why you didn't get started years ago.
