The Jura Capresso Impressa Z7 One Touch Espresso Machine is a versatile espresso maker with many presets and variable functions. I highly recommend it for home or office use.

Pros to Jura Capresso Impressa Z7 One Touch

Overall, this is a great mid-range espresso machine. It has all the basics in place. Positive aspects of its construction include:

  • A 15-bar pump.
  • A built-in water filter and a 94-ounce water tank.

  • An insulated carafe that can keep milk cold for eight hours, and can be converted into a refrigerated carafe that keeps milk fresh as long as a regular refrigerator.
  • Adjustable-height spouts that work with small espresso cups, demitasse mugs for cappuccinos, or latte mugs.
  • Adjustable-width espresso spouts that allow you to make multiple espresso or "crema coffee" drinks in large mugs at the same time. ("Crema coffee" is basically an Americano.)
  • A neutral, modern design.
It is also a versatile espresso machine with the ability to:
  • Prepare coffee and espresso from whole beans and from ground coffee. (This feature is great for those who want to be able to switch between regular and flavored or decaf coffee without reloading the machine.)
  • Make cappuccinos, latte macchiatos and nine other espresso drinks at the touch of a button.
  • Make preset drinks, store personal drink preferences (such as strength and size), make custom drinks and to provide hot water/milk and to froth or steam drinks independent of any presets.

  • Provide three hot water temperature presets for tea or for coffee brewing.
Strong usability is another plus to the Jura-Capresso Impressa Z7. It includes:
  • An intuitive computerized interface that reminds you when the machine needs maintenance (such as more coffee beans or emptied coffee grounds).
  • An informative DVD that explains setup, maintenance and daily use.

Cons to Jura Capresso Impressa Z7 One Touch

There are a few potential drawbacks to this espresso maker. These include:

  • Occasionally unclear error messages and DVD menu categories / chapters.
  • A slightly higher price point than some of Jura's similar Capresso Impressa models.
  • An aesthetic like a Dell computer on the regular model. I'd recommend the Chrome model instead.

Overall Opinion

The Jura Capresso Impressa Z7 is very easy to use. It makes a wide range of drinks with flexible parameters. It's reasonably priced for its level of functionality, and the Chrome model is attractive. I would highly recommend it for home or office use, as well as small-scale food service use.
