How to Upgrade PC Tools Spyware Doctor
- 1). Close any programs currently open on your PC because having them open may interfere with your installation. Open a web browser and log onto pctools.com, the makers of PC Tools Spyware, for the upgrade (see link in Resources).
- 2). Click "Download Upgrade." This opens a File Download dialog box. Click "Run" to begin the installation. If you wish to install the file at a later date, choose "Save" and save the file in a location on your PC that is accessible to you for later use.
- 3). Allow the installation to complete. Restart your PC. Once your PC has restarted, log on and open the Spyware doctor program. Click "Smart Update" and ensure that "Intelliguard" is activated. In the status screen, choose "Immunize Your Computer" and then "Immunize Now."
- 4). Choose "Full Scan" and allow the program to run a full scan on your PC. If viruses or spyware are found, choose "Fix and Continue." If your PC is clean, close the program.
Now that your software has been upgraded, you are protected from the latest viruses and spyware.
