    Fishbowl Decorating

    • For a funky twist on the traditional punch bowl, use several large fishbowls. Cover the table with a brightly colored, blue tablecloth and overlay a piece of lace or lightweight material in a darker shade of blue, mimicking the colors of the ocean. Arrange multiple fishbowls around the table; pour punch into each. Arrange decorations in between the fishbowls -- plastic plants and small ceramic castles, work well. Use other, colorful fishbowl accessories to decorate the table.

    Everything in Its Place

    • Decorate the punch table, giving every item its own place. Place the punch bowl at one end of the table, the cups and napkins at the opposite end. Line the center of the table with brownies, candies and other guest snacks. When guests reach the table, they grab a cup and napkin from one end of the table and make their way down to the punch bowl. If someone plans to pour punch for the guests, allow enough space behind the table for her to stand without bumping into any of the items on the table.

    Clean and Crisp

    • Make the punch table look elegant with white linens. Use a large, crystal punch bowl and clear plastic utensils and cups. Keep one large glass bowl on hand, filled with ice, for guests to self-serve. Display an ice sculpture in the center of the table. Place the sculpture on top of a silver charger or large platter to catch the melting ice. Choose decor in shades of silver and white for a clean, fresh look.

    Tropical Punch Decorating

    • For a luau or tropical themed party, create a complementary punch table. Line it with a brightly colored tablecloth such as yellow and attach a fake grass skirt to the front. Serve punch in fake coconut shells. Arrange freshly cut fruit onto wooden skewers and stick them into a pineapple cut in half. Let guests take a fruit skewer to decorate their punch cups.
