Wal-Mart Carrying Pakistani Made Socks - Now There"s an Idea For Peace?
Well, winter is coming and most of the smart people are looking to buy some new socks to wear to prevent getting cold or catching the flu.
This makes sense, and it is a wise choice.
Therefore, many people will be heading to Wal-Mart because they have a nice selection and extremely low and fair prices for the consumer; a consumer that is trying to save money as our nation re-emerges from the global recession and things get back to normal.
Not long ago, I myself was shopping in Wal-Mart for a pair of really thick socks to wear around the house, and I noted that the thickest and best socks that were available on their shelves were actually made in Pakistan.
Many people consider Pakistan and the place where Al Qaeda is hiding, and where the Taliban is based, or has retreated to due to the US forces in Afghanistan.
However, Pakistan is a huge country and their people are quite concerned about the economy, inflation, and employment.
Over 60% of the people in Pakistan do not approve of the United States military going into their country for any reason including delivering aid to earthquake victims, or to attack Al Qaeda and Taliban strongholds, nevertheless, they welcome US dollars, and would love to export their products into our markets.
Maybe the fact that Wal-Mart is carrying Pakistani socks is a nice model or concept for peace between Pakistanis and the West.
After all, if we buy products made in Pakistan, and they see that they are making money, living better, and gainfully employed in creating products for our country, then it will be very hard for them to hate their customer, which allows them to live well in their middle class and to make money.
This is definitely something to think about, and although I did not purchase the Pakistani socks due to the fact that the Taliban are trying to kill US troops because I wanted to think about it longer; I may actually go back and buy them now that I have reconsidered it.
Please consider all this.
