Apart from that, it is just like a free blog that you can post your articles.
For the make money online bloggers, a self host is better to use because you own the blog.
You can do what ever you want to do with the blog.
The drawback is that you have to spend money to set it up, and you have to continue renewing your domain registration and web host service.
But this shouldn't deter you because it is an investment.
