Let your excess macram¨¦ cords hang to create a simple fringe for your finished piece. Figure in extra cording before you begin your project so that the excess strands will be long enough to create the desired fringe length.

Group excess cords by threes or fours and knot the top of the bundles, close to the finished edge. This will create a tassel-like fringe.

  • 3). Add cord to the bottom of your finished piece if the excess cords do not give you enough material to work with.

  • 4). Tie bundles of cords that have been cut to twice the desired fringe length onto an existing excess cord. Tie the bundle at its midsection, close to the finished edge. This will create a thicker fringe.

Tie individual cords onto the bottom of your finished project, between existing cords. Secure cords with either a lark's head or reverse lark's head knot. Leave fringe as is or group cords as described in Step 2.
