"The Fenis" Urine Director for Hiking
About.com Rating
The Bottom Line
The Fenis occupies several extremes in the world of urine directors: It's the most pliable, and by far the most packable; you shouldn't ever have to worry about accidentally squashing it and breaking it. That pliability may mean more comfort for some, but it could be an inconvenience to anyone that doesn't want to use two hands to control the Fenis when you're wearing pants. Overall, the Fenis is your best option if you want a pliable, flexible urine director that you don't have to worry about ever accidentally breaking or cracking, no matter how you pack it.

Guide Review - "The Fenis" Urine Director for Hiking
If you got here from my master list of urine directors, you already know that I subject each device to two tests: The pants test and the shorts test. Thanks to its flexibility the Fenis was one of the best performers for the up-and-over pants test, but you pretty much need to use both hands: one hand to control the business end (and keep it pointing downhill), and another to keep the receptacle positioned against your body. If you're not a fan of two-handed use, you'll want a more rigid device. You can get away with just one hand if you're just moving shorts aside.
The Fenis's silicone construction means you can boil it (win!), but it seems to collect dust and random specks of stuff more readily than some of the other urine directors I tested.
(Then again, you're not going to leave it out on the bookshelf as a conversation piece, are you?)
You can also fold, roll, and otherwise squish the Fenis into any shape and it'll pop right back to normal as soon as you give it room to do so. I left it wadded up and secured by a rubber band for an entire week -- no problem. As soon as I took the rubber band off, it bounced right back into shape. It does dry quickly after use as claimed.
