How to Customize My Close Button and Minimize Button

    • 1). Right-click on your computer's desktop and then select "Personalize." The "Personalization" window appears on screen.

    • 2). Click "Window Color and Appearance" at the top of the window. New options appear on screen.

    • 3). Click "Advanced Appearance Settings." A new window opens on-screen.

    • 4). Click on the "Item" drop-down menu and select "3D Objects" from the menu options.

    • 5). Click on the "Color 1" drop down menu to select the primary minimize and close button color. Changing this color setting also effects the maximize button and portions of the window border. A preview of the color change appears on your screen as you click.

    • 6). Click on the "Color 2" drop-down menu and select a color. This color applies to the "X" on the close button and the horizontal line on the minimize button. It also changes certain dialogue box text and alters the secondary color of the maximize button.

    • 7). Click "OK" to confirm the changes.
