How to Do Makeup in the Style of the Early 1960s
- 1). Moisturize your skin with a liquid or cream product formulated for your skin type. Even out your skin tone with a few dots of liquid foundation applied with a cosmetic sponge. Blend the makeup with your fingertips.
- 2). Sweep a matte white eye shadow across your lid. Use an eyeshadow brush to deposit the shadow into the crease and across the entire eyelid.
- 3). Apply a thin layer of liquid black eyeliner across the top lid. To make the line smooth and seamless, create a dotted line of eyeliner across your upper lid. Trace the line with the liquid liner to give the eye more definition.
- 4). Curl lashes with a metal eyelash curler to define lashes. Starting at the base of your upper lashes, apply the curler to the base of the lashes and squeeze the curler for two to three seconds. To enhance lashes, work the curler up your eyelashes until the ends are curled.
- 5). Coat top and bottom lashes with two swipes of black mascara. To complete the 1960s look, press a few lashes together with the mascara wand to create individual spikes. Repeat applying mascara on the bottom and top lashes to coat the hairs and create a spidery effect.
- 6). Line your lips with a nude lip pencil. Layer on the lipstick from the tube. Blot with tissue. To add definition and shine, swipe on clear gloss to complete the groovy, mod-inspired look.
