How to Reset the Administrator Password on iTunes
- 1). Open iTunes. In the left navigation panel, select "iTunes Store." Go to the top right corner of the main page and click "Sign in."
- 2). Click the "Forgot Password?" tab in the sign-in pop-up box. Your web browser should immediately open to Apple's Password Retrieval page. Enter the email address associated with your iTunes administrator account into the "Apple ID" field and click "Continue."
- 3). Choose between the two options Apple will present for resetting your password. If you want to receive directions on how to access your account information via the email address you provided, select the first option by clicking "Send email." If you no longer have access to your email account, Apple allows you to reset your password by answering a security question you originally provided when you first set up your iTunes account. Select this second option by clicking the "Answer Question" button.
- 4). Check your inbox for a message from Apple if you selected to receive password reset instructions via email. Click the link contained in the email to reset your password. This link expires three hours after the message is sent. On the password reset page, enter your new password twice in the provided fields and click "Change Password."
- 5). Enter the month and day of your birth and select "Continue" if you selected the second option of answering a security question. Answer your secret security question and click "Continue." Enter your new password twice in the provided fields and select "Change Password."
