    Installing Bi-fold Doors

    • 1). Install the track to the top of the closet frame. Measure the width of the frame, and put a mark in the center. The track will only be half the size of the closet frame. Do this for both the left and right side. Have your helper hold the track up to the top of the closet frame. Align the holes in the track with the line.

    • 2). Drill pilot holes in the top of the closet frame on the line. Screw the track to the top of the frame. For two bi-fold panels you must do this for both the left and right side. The bi-fold kit will come with one track per kit.

    • 3). Drill holes for the pivots. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for proper placement and drill bit size.

    • 4). Hammer the top pivot, which is the pivot that does not have a wheel on it, into the top of the pivot door, which is the door that does not move. Hammer the guide pivot, which is the pivot with a wheel, into the sliding door, which is the door with the handle on it. Hammer in the bottom of the other bottom pivot onto the bottom of the pivot door.

    • 5). Set the jamb bracket on the floor, which is the bracket that sets to the bottom edge of the wall closet frame and the bi-fold doors. Use the measurement that you used to center the track, and place the jamb bracket at the same measurement. Drill pilot holes with a small bit. Screw in all three screws.

    • 6). A pivot bracket is on the edge of the track. To install the door, place the top pivot bracket into the pivot bracket whole. Place the bottom pivot in the jamb bracket. If the door is too low or too high, you can adjust the height of the door by twisting the head on the bottom of the bottom pivot.

    • 7). Push the guide pivot, the one with the wheel, down, and let it up into the track. Install the center guide, which is a plastic piece that has one spring on each side of the piece; this will just snap in.

    • 8). Drill a hole in the center of the guide door. Measure the width of the door, and make a mark in the center, and do the same for the length of the door. Drill the size of the hole to the manufacturer's requirements. Push the screw through the whole, and twist on the knob. Tighten it by holding the knob, and tighten the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
