    • 1). Collect all the pieces that need to be sent along with the wedding invitation, such as response cards and envelopes, hotel information and directions.

    • 2). Place the tissue paper in the envelope first. Traditionally, wedding invitations often were layered with tissue paper to give them an elegant feel as well as protect them during delivery. However, using tissue paper is not as common as it used to be and does not have to be included with the invitation, unless desired.

    • 3). Insert the actual invitation into the envelope on top of the tissue paper, or first into the envelope, depending on your preference.

    • 4). Place the map or directions to the wedding ceremony venue and the reception venue into the envelope, as well as any additional literature, such as transportation or lodging information.

    • 5). Address the reply card envelopes with your address and stamp them.

    • 6). Place the reply card under the flap of the reply envelope and place it into the invitation envelope. The reply card and reply envelope are inserted last into the invitation envelope.
