If you have kids you will know just how expensive it can be to visit the hairdresser.
Not only wont they sit still, they fidget constantly and to top it all the end result is sometimes..
well lets just say its not perfect.
I started to think then it would be a great idea to learn how to cut kids hair.
The biggest surprise for me though was that when I looked into it, I found that its not nearly as difficult as it seems at first glance.
In fact, once I mastered the art of getting them to sit still the whole experience was very straightforward indeed.
I have to confess though I did cheat slightly and got myself a good guide from the internet to get me started - after all I didn't want to damage them beyond repair.
After a few practice attempts on one of my wife's old wigs - honest she never wears it - I finally trusted myself enough to let myself loose on the real thing - I couldn't believe it - I was actually starting to cut kids hair.
My only other expense was a half way decent pair of scissors, but they were less than 10 bucks.
At the end it actually took me less time to do a decent job than it used to take me to drive to the salon, now thats what I call a result! These days , not only do I cut my own children's hair but also some of their friends hair as well - don't worry I get permission first - and my only regret is that I didn't learn how to cut kids hair sooner.
