Political Parties Are Those of Lots of Words, Lots of Promises, Yet Little Meaningful Action

It is true that there are almost as many jokes about politicians, as there are about lawyers.
Interestingly enough, many politicians are lawyers, which probably makes sense because they are our lawmakers.
And yet, one has to ask why we make so many jokes about politicians, such as; "how do you know when a politician is lying; his lips are moving.
" Not long ago, I was talking to an acquaintance, and he indicated to me that he no longer belonged to any political party.
He was not an American, he was from a foreign country, and their political system is a little bit different, nevertheless, he stated; "I don't get much into political parties anymore, and I rarely vote because every politician speaks lots of words, and promises lots of things, yet there is very little meaningful action.
" Now, isn't that interesting, this is another country and therefore, things should be a little different, but this is the same exact problem we have in our own society and civilization in the United States.
Our politicians are constantly promising stuff that they know they can never deliver as they stand behind their podiums and give great teleprompter readings and flash us their soothing smiles.
It's almost as if to get elected to any office in the United States all you have to do is be a very good liar, and have lots of money behind you for public relations and advertising.
That is truly unfortunate.
Still, we all know that we live in the greatest nation, and we are very lucky to live here.
And as bad as our politics seem to be at times, it still appears to work.
Those who promise too much and deliver too little are ousted, and their political parties are hurt, and the pendulum swings back again to the other side.
And I, like you, probably imagine that many of the people who do not vote, probably do not vote for the very same reason as my acquaintance stated as his reason in his country.
I'd like you to please think about this.
