How to Use a Flash App for a Screensaver
- 1). Download InstantStorm (see Resources). Install the file by double-clicking the downloaded EXE file.
- 2). Open the program after installation completes. Close the initial "splash" screen. Type "My Flash Screensaver," as an example, in the "Screensaver title" field.
- 3). Press the "Browse" button to load the Flash SWF file created by your published Flash animation.
- 4). Select the "Publishing" tab in the InstantStorm main window. Generate the self-installing EXE screensaver file by clicking the "Create" button.
- 1). Download Axialis Screensaver Producer (see Resources). Install the file by double-clicking the downloaded EXE file.
- 2). Select the "New" icon from the Axialis menu.
- 3). Choose "Flash Based Screensaver" from the "New Screensaver Project" menu, then click the "Next" button.
- 4). Enter a title for the screensaver in the "Title" field and click the "Finish" button.
- 5). Click the "..." button to select your Flash SWF file.
- 6). Click the "Make Install" button. Accept the default program settings and keep clicking the "Next" button until you see a button that says "Go and Compile!" Click this button to create the screensaver EXE installer file.
- 1). Download and install SWF to Screensaver Scout (see Resources).
- 2). Click "File" and "Open Movie from File" from the main menu.
- 3). Select the "Make Setup" button.
- 4). Enter the screensaver title and click the "Generate" button.
- 1). Locate the EXE file generated by the SWF screensaver software.
- 2). Double-click on the file.
- 3). Type "Screensaver" in the search window on the Windows Start menu.
- 4). Select "Change screen saver" from the shortcut list.
- 5). Choose the name of the screensaver you created from the "Screen saver" pull-down menu in the Screen Saver Settings dialog box.
