  The AVG antivirus program requires disk space for the program to exist on the hard drive and to maintaining the virus vault--the place where viruses are stored after detection so they can't infect the hard drive and other system resources. The minimum amount of disk space needed to install AVG antivirus is 350 megabytes, but 470 megabytes are recommended for optimal software conditions and speed.
