The good and bad news is that you, and you alone, have the ability to truly motivate yourself and drive you to achieve your life's goals.
It is helpful to visualize your goals.
Whatever it is that you are working towards, keep a visual reminder of it close by.
It might be something like a car, a new house, your dream job, or even a weight loss goal.
Take a picture of the thing you want, or cut a picture out of a magazine and post it in a conspicuous place where you will see it often.
When you feel discouraged, it will remind you of your goal, and will help you stay focused on achieving what you want.
Keep a motivational journal or wish book.
Research suggests that people who write down their to-do-lists are far more successful at achieving their intended goals than those people who just keep mental lists instead.
Putting something in writing makes it more powerful.
Read inspirational books and literature.
They will help you improve your attitude, and help motivate you to reach your goals.
Sometimes you may feel that you do not know how or where to start, and you get frustrated.
Whatever it is that you have been meaning to do, or wanting to achieve, JUST DO IT! Stop putting something off for the perfect moment, and start right now.
Momentum will pick up gradually, and before you know it, you will have achieved your goal.
We all experience a lack of motivation occasionally, but it is important to keep your eye on your goals and find ways to keep going.
