How to Find Somebody by Email Address
- 1). Put the email address in quotation marks, and plug it in to a major search engine like Google, Yahoo! or AOL. Be sure to include the complete email address and not just the email account name or heading. For example, plug in "notarealemailaddress@yahoo.com" rather than "notarealemailaddress." This will identify all online resources that reference the email address.
- 2). Plug the email address into a major social networking website like Facebook or Myspace. Use the "Search by Email" function to search the social network directory and database. The search will yield not only the email account, if the user has a profile with the website, but "Friends" in contact with the email address as well.
- 3). Contact the company that issued the email address. If the email address is a business account, contact the business for a complete listing of the company directory. If the email address includes a personnel identification number or name, use the information to track the individual. For example, "John_Doe@DemandStudios.com" or "John_Doe78958@DemandStudios.com."
- 4). Search the account information provided by the account holder. For Google or Yahoo! account holders, visit the official website to view the profile of the individual. Use this information to track the individual. Many profiles include additional website information, biographical information, city and state of origin, age and occupation.
