How to Determine If Auto Shocks Are Defective
- 1). Drive your car around a turn. Look for your car to sway heavily from side to side if your shocks need replacement.
- 2). Bring your car up to speed and apply your brakes normally. If your car's front end dives down toward the ground, your shocks aren't performing properly.
- 3). Accelerate your car from a complete stop. Watch for the rear end to "squat" down as this is a sign of bad shocks.
- 4). Drive your car over bumpy roads or terrain. If you notice considerable bouncing, your shocks need replacement.
