Tips On Having A Successful Relationship
The first thing I'm going to tell you about is Respect, without it you are doomed for failure, it is the most important part of any relationship and it has to come from both sides.
I think that respect links to trust which is another very important component.
If you don't trust someone most likely you don't respect them and if you don't respect them..
..
you get the idea.
These are some signs of disrespect: 1.
If you are calling each other names (if you call your boyfriend stupid, than you're just as stupid for being with him).
2.
If you tell them to shut up because you don't care about what he/she has to say.
3.
If you don't ask his/her opinion when there's something important going on in your life.
4.
Using profanity when you speak to each other.
5.
Being sarcastic.
The lawn's not going to mow itself, or those dishes are not going to wash themselves.
Sarcasm just brings up anger and animosity.
6.
Doing something to purposely hurt them (this includes cheating).
Make respecting each other the core of your relationship and other things will fall into place.
Other things to think about: Never leave the house upset.
Meaning, you had a fight last night you both get up and go to work and don't say a word to each other.
You never know what the day will bring, you might not be able to tell them you love them again or give them a kiss, so even if you are still angry, say "I love you" have a nice day, and we'll talk tonight.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
There are more important things than fighting because he won't clean the sink after he's done shaving.
Don't be selfish- Put him/her before you.
After all, you are with them because you love them, and there was a point when you thought you'd do anything for them, so this one should be easy.
Communication is key - If you are upset about something, sit down and talk.
I can't stand hearing about women who will be angry for days and their boyfriend or husband has no idea why.
It's stupid and childish, if he tells you he doesn't know why you're angry, he's probably telling you the truth.
And finally, learn to say "I'm sorry" when you know you're wrong, when you do this he/she will appreciate it and won't be afraid to do the same.
