Cotton Wool and tissues, we all use them every single day.
When we are removing make-up, or when we are going to the toilet. When we have a cold/flu, or when we are sad or even happy. Tissues and cotton wool are always there to dry our eyes, and to get rid of the mess.
Tissues are always there for us, even when we make a mess on the kitchen side.
Cotton wool is made from cotton bolls, and every time we create cotton wool, we are getting rid of the bolls. But we repay it by adding pesticides, and add alcohol to them once they are made to create wipes! This can't be right!
Instead of this we should be farming them organically so that we are not ruining the shrubs, and we should also be planting more. We should be farming cotton organically.
If the cotton is farmed organically then the wool will stay incredibly soft against the skin, and all of the goodness would stay inside of the cotton.
There are cotton wools out the which are certified organic, however they also meet strict ethical and social standards. Some companies, also (when a consumer purchases cotton wool) give a percentage of the purchase price to the farmers who produce the cotton. The product is also certified by the Soil Association.
As you can tell, you can still purchase cotton, and care about the farmers making it, and the environment, so I just do not understand why some people are stuck to buying big names, when it is really the smaller brands which make organic cotton.
Now we all know that trees are cut down to create paper, and tissue. However did you know that we do not have to cut down tree's to create some tissues.
Some tissues are created using recycled paper. This means, that some of the unused paper which we have recycled has been turned into tissues.
These sort of companies provide money to some of the poorest countries in the world. Some places which have very little food, children cannot go to school, and some places are very short on toilets!
So with your contribution to a tissue company like this, you will find that you are not ruining the environment, they have not cut down any trees at all, and they are helping poorer countries.
You will feel so much happier to know, that you are helping so many worthy charities, just by buying toilet tissue, kitchen tissue or even facial tissues.
