Hot Water Extraction Cleaning
- 1). Dry vacuum the carpet before beginning to remove dirt and debris.
- 2). Fill the solution tank with hot water from your tap, and any cleaning solution that is recommended for the particular machine you are using.
- 3). Move the carpet cleaning machine into the far corner of the room and work outward so you won't have to step on carpeted areas that were previously cleaned.
- 4). Turn the carpet cleaner on, squeeze the release trigger on the handle of the machine and push the machine forward on the carpet to wet the area with hot water and cleaning solution.
- 5). Keep squeezing the trigger and pull the machine backward to saturate the area once again with the hot water and cleaning solution.
- 6). Release the trigger and push the machine forward to extract the liquid. Pull the machine backward to extract more liquid from the carpet. Repeat this step several more times to thoroughly extract all of the water. Do not press the trigger during extraction.
- 7). Allow the carpet to dry thoroughly to the touch before walking on it, to avoid matting or soiling it. The drying time will vary depending on the indoor environment. Place plastic or aluminum foil under the legs of furniture if you need to replace it before the carpet completely dries.
