How to Clean Twigs and Bad Berries From Blueberries
- 1). Spread a small amount of blueberries in a single layer on your large tray.
- 2). Remove and discard any sticks, twigs, branches and leaves that may have fallen into the blueberries when you were picking them.
- 3). Skim over the berries looking for any that are soft, damaged or shriveled. Any flawed or damaged berries may be susceptible to pests and other problems. Pick the flawed berries out and discard them.
- 4). Add the berries that you are keeping to a strainer, being careful not to pile them deep to avoid crushing or damaging berries on the bottom. Rinse the berries in cold water.
