How to Make a Fan Bow With Fabric
- 1). Put the iron on the proper setting for the material you are using. Let the iron heat up.
- 2). Place the material design side up on the work surface.
- 3). Fold the material in half horizontally. Press the iron over the material where you folded it. Iron along the entire edge to flatten the crease. Unfold the material. There is a line across the middle and the square will not lay flat.
- 4). Fold the bottom edge of the square so it meets the center line. Iron the edge to flatten the crease and then unfold the material.
- 5). Fold the top edge down to meet the center line. Iron the edge to flatten the crease and unfold.
- 6). Flip the material over so the design side is down. Fold the bottom edge up so it lines up with the top line. Iron the crease and unfold.
- 7). Fold the top edge down so it lines up with the bottom line. Iron the crease and unfold.
- 8). Fold the bottom edge up so it lines up with the bottom line. Iron the crease and unfold. Fold the top edge down so it lines up with the top line. Iron the crease and unfold.
- 9). Fold the bottom edge so it meets the bottom line along the crease already made. Fold along the next crease so the material goes to the back. Fold the next crease to the front and continue folding creases front and back until you reach the end of the material. You will have one long strip that opens into an accordion shape when you let go.
- 10
Fold the strip in half vertically, iron the small crease and unfold. - 11
Spread fabric glue all over one-half of the top of the strip. Fold the strip in half along the crease and press together a few seconds to help the glue hold. - 12
Pull on the left and right ends of the strip to open the fan.
