The Con of Internet Business
I was looking at a site that brings in a little traffic here.
It is one of these traffic-building sites that may or may not be useful in terms of building visitors to your own site and then being able to monetize those visits.
It does bring in some traffic for me so I thought it was worth checking out more for that reason.
On going there, I found that most of what was there was straight affiliate links and I mean the sort that can even want you to pay money to join their biz-opp.
You know the kind I mean.
You pay something every month and get rich when you convince all your friends to join and they pay the same from which you get a cut.
Oops, there go your friends but the people at the top get rich.
What gets me about it is how there have been ways for so many years to hide the affiliate link so that it appeared like a reasonable website and yet people still cant do it.
I guess it is mostly down to these pyramid selling guys who just want more people paying in to keep them going.
Now go back not too many years and it was pretty expensive to get a domain name.
Not so these days and, while the name doesn't show what I paid for the first year, the name of my site does show how little it can cost.
OK if you must know, I wanted 99p as the name but it was already taken so I settled on 59p.
Well it is a much better bargain and that is the price that the 99p Shop sell some of their things at! If you are tempted by one of these 'get your own affiliate website' schemes then I would suggest one of three things:
For sure, it is going to take some work on your part but, by putting in the effort, the rewards will come.
Just remember that old phrase Rome wasn't built in a day

- Get your own domain name.
Look for the offers because you can easily find something that will only cost a quid or a dollar for the first year.
You can then forward that domain name to your program. - If you dont want to do that then there are a number of places that will give you a reasonable sounding domain name for free.
I've used .
co.
cc, .
tk and .
co.
nr in the past but there are others. - Best way of all though is to firstly do one of those then make your own site where you you talk about things that relate to what you want people to buy into.
Get it right and you get visitors who will read and then click on to what you want them to buy.
It's called pre-selling or warming up your prospect.
For sure, it is going to take some work on your part but, by putting in the effort, the rewards will come.
