Starting Home Careers Online
When you first get started you may be under the impression that working at home involves lounging around all day sipping on coffee while you watch television and maybe play on Facebook on your computer, but it's really not the case.
Instead what it is more like is working out how many hours you're going to put in each day in order to get the results you want.
If you put less hours in per day, then you'll know that you're not going to get the results you want because you're not meeting your minimum criteria.
If you put more hours in each day then you would hope that you would be exceeding your minimum criteria and excelling at building your ideal home based business.
But when I see most people start their own home business, I notice two things happen.
Firstly, they don't set the right expectations of themselves.
Second, they don't set the right expectations about what sort of results they should get from their home business based upon the effort they put in.
And I think this is mainly due to the expansive nature of many home business companies which talk a lot about financial freedom and lifestyle yet shy away from sharing just how much work it will actually take from someone to get that type of result.
Instead, I'm all about being authentic and realistic, because after all, you're going to be working with me and the last thing I need is for you to be wasting my time or yours running after a pipe dream that will never be realized because you're not being realistic.
So if you and I are going to set realistic expectations, then we're going to do that just like you would with your job and here's how.
Considering you have just started, you'll need to work out how much time you can honestly commit to investing into your new career each week for the next four weeks.
Why four weeks? Because that's a good enough amount of time to plan for when you first start out, and it helps to set some realistic goals and then subsequently, action steps towards your goals achievement.
Let's say you've set aside ten hours per week to building your own profitable part time home based business.
Now that you've done that you can ask the coach you're working with exactly what sort of results you can expect over the next four weeks by investing those ten hours.
Your coach should come back with a response along the lines of, "Well that all depends on WHAT you are doing during those ten hours...
If you are sitting on Facebook and calling it work, then that's not going to get you anywhere.
You want to be a responsibility champion and work on your key money-makers.
The things that are going to make you money, instead of the silly admin stuff.
" Expectations are just one part of the puzzle to consider when starting a new home career online and another thing to consider is in what capacity will you be operating.
Will you work from home, or café, or hotel in Paris? It's completely up to you when you have a home based business online or offline because with the way modern technology has completely changed the way we do business, it has also changed the way you can do business.
When first starting out it's wise to stick with what you know and that's probably going to be a home office or the lounger and then as your skills improve you can look at the local coffee shop or beachside (or park side) bench.
Another thing to consider when it comes to the capacity in which you're working is, do you have a powerful strategy setup for launching your new business so you can create momentum? In other words, once you've allocated the amount of time you'll be working weekly, and what sort of work you'll be doing, do you then have a system or strategy to work with to boost your results.
It's all good putting in work but you need to know that the work you're doing will produce the results (and income) you want.
If not, then you're just spinning your tires.
So even before starting your home career online you want to assess the strategy the company uses to get initial results fast, and then how to keep that momentum going, because in business momentum is everything, and if your business doesn't have the momentum, then it won't create the income you want, and that means you won't be getting those extra holiday's or that new car anytime soon.
So get started right by following some of the tips I have just outlined for you.
