When outsourcing your business to China and similar countries with low production costs, product inspection should be a high priority.
Today I'd like to talk about the 3 types of inspection that quality control companies use.
Product inspection is generally carried out before the product ships to the purchaser.
Problems can be corrected and pre-emptively prevented before they become bigger issues.
The 3 basic types of product inspect as as follows: - Pre-production - During Production (DUPRO) - Pre-shipment Pre-production: Pre-production or early production take place when the first 0-20% of the total quantity has been completed.
It allows for an immediate judgement of real capacity and preparation levels, and identifies problems while there is still ample time to adjust.
Feedback from these kind of inspections includes detailed information on the finished goods, as well as realistic timeline.
The raw materials used in production are also thoroughly checked to ensure factory is using only the materials they promised to use, as well as components and packaging materials.
During production: DUPRO inspections are recommended when you are making a first time order or working with a new factory.
They take place when production has reached 20-60% of final shipment, giving you a detailed look at the manufacturing process, material usage and workflow.
It is essential for shipments of a sizeable quantity where continuous production can often lead to major swings in the quality level.
DUPRO are the most effective way of identifying and preventing possible bottlenecks and delays.
Pre-shipment: The final inspections occur when 80-100% has been completed.
Rigorous onsite testing to industry AQL standards is performed by European, American, and local expert QC teams.
Within 12 hours of inspection, an ACCEPTED, HOLD, or REJECTED rating is received, including any information about failures.
That's it, I hope you've learnt a little more about the quality control process.
