    • "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" is a tactical shooter that was released for the Xbox in 2005. Players can participate in battles between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire or the Republic and Confederation of Independent Systems. The player can select from a number of different class types. The goal of each battle is to capture the enemy command posts to prevent further reinforcements from deploying. The game emphasizes teamwork to achieve this goal.

    Medals

    • Medals in "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" are awarded for achieving certain goals within a single life. These include killing four to eight enemies with a specific weapon or simply earning up to 36 points in one life. Each medal awards a bonus to the character, which is typically a better weapon. These bonuses can be made permanent by earning the medal 32 times. This is a cumulative value from every match you play, so you do not need to do it in one battle.

    Classes

    • Every faction is "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" on the Xbox has the same four basic classes. These units are named and look different for each faction but are equal in terms of use. The basic soldier is equipped with an assault rifle, which is ideal for fighting against infantry in close- to mid-range combat. The antivehicle soldier has a rocket launcher. This is the only class that has a reasonable chance of killing a vehicle but is nearly useless for fighting against infantry. The sniper class can kill enemy soldiers from across the battlefield but have difficulty targeting close soldiers and are hampered by a slow rate of fire. Support troops are mostly useful for their ability to repair vehicles and turrets, which is only good on battlefields with lots of vehicles and turrets. The ability to hand out ammo and health power ups is nearly useless due to how easy both are to find.

    Balanced Battlefields

    • Most of the battlefields in "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" on the Xbox put one side on the offensive and one on the defensive. The faction in each role will always be the same every time that map is used. For example, on Hoth the Rebel Alliance will always be placed defensively in the bunkers with the Empire offensively attacking with vehicles. This can lead to some battlefields being arguably skewed in favor of one side. There are two battlefields that do not have this issue. Bespin Platforms and the Tantive IV give both factions identical starting points and resources. These maps are good to use if you want to ensure a fair fight.
